Topic: PRODUCTIVE THOUGHTS…Part 3
Text: Proverbs 15:13:
13: A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
The remembrance of lost ones which can produce depressive thoughts and sorrowful mind.
Another experience of life that brings about remembrance is the experience of the past.
When you remember the failure of the past and the mistake of the past, often tend towards regrets, condemnation and hatred. Some have regrets of what they could have done differently in the past to yield a better result, but they couldn’t and so remain sorrowful in heart. some condemn themselves believing that probably the ugly experience of their past is their fate and destiny, and so they give up on themselves. Sometimes this tend towards hatred; blaming the ugly experience of their past on some other persons they had encountered in the journey of their lives and most times they carry in their heart such hatred.
Some who had good life in the past also tend to remember the good life they have had in the past compared to the present, especially when such was once rich, wealthy or gainfully employed, but are now unemployed, poor and struggling in life. The thoughts of the past often haunt them and generates sorrow and depression.
Beloved, whatever your past, you need to let the past remain the past, remember you cannot rewrite the past, but you can rewrite the future by having productive thoughts at the present. Forget about your past and build the future you want, dust yourself out of that regrets, condemnation and hatred, look up to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Remember the promise of God, that
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase (Job 8:7)
So depend on God and make a productive move about your life. God bless you
* Father, I receive strength to overcome the depressive thoughts of the past in Jesus Name.
