PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
27th April, 2020.
Topic: IN HIS LIKENESS
Text: 2 Peter 1:4.
4: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Every child is expected to take of the nature of his father, God made us of his own nature, which means we are to share his feelings, his thoughts, and his likeness.
The focus here is the perspective in which God sees things: understanding this will not only help us to be pleasing to him, but also gives us comfort in our daily living.
I want to share with scriptural passages how God sees sin, problems, and the future.
SIN: Habakkuk 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity... God hates sin and can’t put up with it, sin is not in the nature of God, God is holy and all his children are expected to be holy. 1Peter 1:16 For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:48 said, ‘ Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Some people say, ‘ God is merciful, he will always forgive our sins ‘, yes, he is, but committing sin intentionally and depending on his mercy is synonymous to taking God for granted. Look at this scripture: 1 John 3:8. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9: Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. The nature of God forbids sin and every child of God is expected to live above sin, grace will be made available if only you can trust God. First of all, you must believe that you can be free from sin, and then ask him me for grace to be free.
- PROBLEM: Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? God is bigger than anything, and we, his children, are far above any problem or difficulty. We leverage on his strength and power to conquer our battles and overcome all problems. Our faith in God grants us access to his divine nature which includes his might and power. Apostle Paul speaking Philippians 4:19 said, ‘ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me ‘. God will not leave us defenceless just as you will not leave your children defenceless.
I will continue in part 2. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Sin will not have dominion over me, I receive grace to overcome sin.
* I connect to the power that is made available to me through his divine nature, I decree victory over every battle around me in Jesus name.
