Topic: THE CRY OF THE RIGHTEOUS
Text: Psalms 34:17KJV
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
God always hear cries for example he heard the cry of the people of Nineveh when they cried for repentance from their sin and God showed them mercy according to Jonah 3:10
“And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not”
If God would not reject the cry of repentance from a sinful nation like Nineveh, how much more will he hear the cry of the righteous.
In Exodus 2, the people of God cried into him in their bondage and oppression and God heard their cry and set forth their freedom and liberation according Exodus 2:23-24
23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
At such a time like this when the whole world is in confusion, God awaits the cry of the righteous to intervene and show mercy, How do I know? 2 Chronicles 7:14 says it
“that If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray…..then will I hear from heaven, and ……..”
Also Ezekiel 22:30 says
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it…..”
Beloved, as a believer, as a church, it is such a time we need to cry in prayer to God for mercy to end this plague in the world, be rest assured that He hears the cry of the righteous. God bless you

* Father, let your mercy prevail over all nations of the world in Jesus Name
