Topic: JOURNEY TO THE CROSS… part 3.
Text: Mark: 4:11.
11: And He said to them, To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable. Amplified version.
The summary of all Jesus came to do is to build the kingdom of God. In the whole of old testament you can’t come across the phrase, ‘ kingdom of God ‘ ‘ kingdom of heaven ‘.
Since Adam fell man has been separated from God, man couldn’t stand and reign with him, the old testament saints were not promised the kingdom of God. When God was to punish the children of Israel he made them to wander in the wilderness for forty years so, those of them who doubted him could not enter the promise Land. Moses also was punished by not entering the promise Land. The highest promise the got was the promise land
The first person that talked about the kingdom of God is John the Baptist, hear what he said here: Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This is first place the Kingdom of heaven was mentioned, old testament saints were not promised the kingdom. John was saying, ‘ now the kingdom of heaven is available for men ‘, in the whole of old testament it was not made available. What did John mean when he was saying that? He meant the man that will bring the kingdom is here. Please remember that John’s assignment was to prepare the way of the Lord; to announce Jesus and his mission.
Let me go a little further here: Jesus began his teaching by talking about ‘ the kingdom of God ‘, ‘ the kingdom of heaven ‘, the God who owns the kingdom is also the one who owns the heaven; look at the Lord’s prayer: Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10: Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
You will notice that the first prayer point in the Lord’s prayer is ‘ thy kingdom come ‘, ‘ as it is in heaven ‘, as thy kingdom is in heaven let it be on Earth.
You will also notice that about 90 percentage of the parables of Jesus began with, ‘ the kingdom of God ‘ or ‘ kingdom of heaven ‘ is liken unto this or that. His messages were about the kingdom, that was his assignment.
Jesus was talking about deliverance in Matthew 12:28 said, ‘ But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you ‘.
Let me shock you with this; let me show you when the world will end from the bible: 1 Corinthians 15: 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
I see God telling Jesus, ‘ build me a kingdom ‘, and when he is done with this assignment, and he hands it over to God then the end will come. Everyone who is born again is part of this kingdom irrespective of his or her denomination. The kingdom begin in our hearts at the point you gave your life to Christ, and only those who have the kingdom built in their hearts will make the rapture. God bless you. I will continue from here in part 4.
PRAYER.
* Build your kingdom in my heart Lord.
