Topic: LIVING & SERVING UNDER GRACE
Text: Galatians 2:20-21KJV
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
This is one man that wrote and taught so much about grace, am talking of no other person than Apostle Paul.
Firstly his life was an embodiment of grace. After he had persecuted the early, throwing many believers into prison, Paul had an encounter with Jesus on his mission to Damascus as recorded in Acts 9. From that point, he would never forget how the grace of God had found him out and saved him from his path of destruction, that understanding was so paramount to him that he talked about it in several passages of the scriptures he wrote.
For example: in our text above he said he was a dead man because he had been crucified with Christ, though he lived yet he lived by grace (through faith) in Christ who gave himself for him and in verse 21 he stated clearly that he does not frustrate that grace upon his life. Also in Ephesians 2:8-9 he went us to explain to the Ephesians that they were saved by grace through faith and not of works less anyone should boast. So the life of Paul was clearly a life under the grace of God, no wonder he declared saying “I am what I am by the grace of God” (1 Corinthians 15:10)
Secondly, Paul served God under grace, he was very careful not to function in ministry outside grace. He served under grace even when Denmas left him for the pleasures of life, even when Barnabas first separated from him in their ministry due to disagreement (Acts 15:36-41), even when Apostle Peter was hypocritical in dealing with Gentiles converted by Paul (Galatians 2:11-13). No wonder he said 1 Corinthians 15: 9-10 that he laboured more than all other Apostles by the grace of God.
Beloved, are you living and serving under grace? Do you frustrate God’s grace upon your life & ministry? Think on these things.
I dedicate this message by the grace of God to a great friend and partner who i have known for 25 years. Since I knew him, his life and service has been under the grace of God. Join me as I celebrate Pastor Yemi Olabode (Chief Editor, Prevailing Voice Daily & President, Prevailing Family Int’l) on this occasion of his birthday. I pray for greater measures of grace upon your life & ministry in Jesus Name.
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to live and serve you under grace in Jesus Name
