Topic: IT’S THE LORD’S GLORY
Text: Psalms 3:1-8KJV
1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. 2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.
Glory which can simply be defined as magnificent or great beauty is applicable to everything, living and non living. The scriptures affirmed this in several places:
- In Matthew 6:29 the scripture talks about the glory of the lilies when it says “And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these”
- In 1 Corinthians 15:41 the scripture talks about the glory of the sun, moon and stars
“There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory”
So every life has glory or beauty likewise every thing a man goes through in life also has glory or beauty attached to it.
But the big question is who takes glory of a man’s life and everything he goes through in life?
Many atimes men like to take glory of what happen in their life or even of the life of others. This is especially when such men help their fellows out of certain situations, they like to take the praise for what they did and ascribed the glory to themselves. Some men take glory of their own life thinking that they achieved or scaled through certain challenges by their own strength.
Beloved all glory should be ascribed to God and not to self. David understood this clearly, that’s why he refer to God as the glory and the lifter of his head, he knew clearly that by strength no man can prevail and so all glory is God’s and not self. God bless you.
* Father, take all the glory over my life, my home and work in Jesus Name.
