Topic: GRACE FOR SERVICE….Part 13
Text: 2nd Corinthians 12:9 KJV
9 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
In part twelve, we discussed about some importance of grace are which are grace empowers and make rigorous work simple.
Today we want to discuss more importance of grace:
* Grace weakens the power of discouragement and persecution: Discouragement and persecution are potent weapons in the hand of the devil against any man, especially a man with heavenly mandate to accomplish. Discouragement has made many to give up on their God given purpose, call and mandate, while for some persecution has made them throw-in the towel and abandoned their ministry. Now it takes grace to keep moving on, without giving up in the face of discouragement and persecution. In Acts 4, Peter and John were captured for preaching and healing a lame man at the beautiful gate and we’re in prisoned after which they were threatened not preach the gospel again but they made it clear to their persecutors that they would not stop preaching the gospel according to Acts 4: 18-20
And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
* Grace brings peace and joy amidst hardship or trouble: To be at peace in the midst of ministerial crises, hardship and troubles requires grace. The Bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous, now in the midst of afflictions, grace brings out joy and peace and that is what keep many going in ministry while some have call it quit, give up and lost their God given purpose in life. I pray that sufficient grace to go on in God’s service be released unto you today.
* Father, I receive never to give up in service in Jesus Name.
