Topic: GRACE FOR SERVICE….Part 12
Text: 2nd Corinthians 12:9 KJV
9 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
In part eleven, we discussed how to receive grace through faithfullness and that training and development enhance grace upon a man. Today we want to discuss the importance of grace.
Grace without any doubt is very important to every life especially in the service of God. Some importance of grace are:
* Grace makes rigorous, tasking and stressful service simple: Service can be very rigorous, demanding, tasking and many times stressful, but when grace is available for you, service will become simple. Everyone around you may see it stressful and demanding but you will see it simple because of the grace for such service over your life. In Exodus 32, Moses was gone out of the camp of Israel for forty days to be with God on a mountain, Moses must have enjoyed the fellowship with God so much that days and nights pass yet he was never in a hurry to leave God’s presence, but to the Israelites, the 40 days and nights were long enough to consider that probably Moses was dead or gone never to return that they cried to Aaron to make them another god to serve and Aaron consented. My point is what the Israelites considered difficult, unbearable, too long and unimaginable (i.e staying on the mountain for 40 days and nights), Moses consider it simple, sweet and enjoyable because he has the grace to tarry in God’s presence.
* Grace Empowers: What you could not have done ordinarily, when grace is available you will be empowered to do it. It is naturally impossible for a man to run barefooted and outrun a horse but when the hand of God (hand of grace that empowers) came upon Elijah, he ran barefooted and he outran Ahab who was on chariot into the city according to 1 King’s 18:46
And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Beloved, if that service is too difficult for you, then you need grace, if it’s beyond your strength, knowledge and wisdom, then you need grace. Grace is good, it is great and must be desired for an excellent service and ministry. God bless you
PRAYER
* Father, give me grace to service you excellently in Jesus Name.
