Topic: PERSISTENT PRAYER..part 2
Text : Luke 18:7,8.
7: And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8: I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
What happens when prayer persist is the focus here: it is like the continuous banging on the door, the noice alone will attract rapid response, like breaking a wall with an hammer, like ringing a bell continuously, it is like the continuous noice of a baby.
When we pray God hears, in fact, from the moment of starting the prayer, he attends to our cry, let me give you scriptures to prove that our prayers get to God: Exodus 2:23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
Proverbs 34:17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
God hears the prayer of his people as a mother hears the cry of her baby. Let me give an example you can relate with: sometimes you hear a baby’s cry persistently, and you feel the mother is not attending to him or her, or the mother is probably not around, and as you try to check on the baby you find out that the mother is busy trying to attend to him or her, she may probably be in the kitchen preparing the baby’s food or dressing the baby up, in like manner, while we are praying and it seems like God is not attentive to our prayer, he is busy working something out for us.
God is working something out just as the mother of the crying baby is busy attending to the baby, you will notice that babies don’t keep quiet time until they get what they want, in like manner, we should not keep quiet until we get our request answered. As the persistent cry of a baby bothers the mother so also do our pains bother God.
You must understand that God is more caring and loving than a mother, hear what he says in Isaiah 49:15,16. [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me. Amplified.
God attends to billions of people in the world yet he is not too busy that he can’t number the hair on your head. He knows you by name, and he cares about you. Please don’t stop praying he is preparing a glorious package for you, I am talking from experience. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, make your request known God and expect answer.
