PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
4th February, 2020
Topic: DEALING WITH WEAKNESS
Text: 2nd Corinthians 12:9KJV

9 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Weakness is defined as the state of not being strong or powerful. It is also a fault or disadvantage in a person’s character or lifestyle.

It is generally believed that everyone has his or her area of weakness or weaknesses just like everyone has his or her areas of strength. For some it might just be one particular weakness, fault or disadvantage while some might have more than one. There are different perspectives about weakness which have formed how several people handle, manage or deal with their weaknesses. Some sees weakness as a:

* Destiny: The one who writes destiny is God, and the scripture says in Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good…” Meaning God did not create anything bad, neither did he write a man’s destiny to be evil, so your weakness is not your destiny, don’t result it to fate saying it is your destiny or saying that is how God want it to be. Samson has a weakness which is lusting after women, a look at the his birth according to Judges 13:3-5

And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

Shows there was no where it was mentioned that Samson have a weakness of lust, so it’s not his destiny nor is it fate.
* Cross: Many see weakness as a cross they must carry all the days of their lives and as such they believe there is nothing that can be done about it. From our scriptural text, Paul had a weakness, he knew it was not a cross to be borne all the days of his life, then he sought God to help him. Your weakness is not a cross you must live with all through your life’s journey on the earth, it can be taken away from you, you can overcome it by surrendering it to God asking God to help you.

PRAYER:
* Father, give me grace to overcome my weakness in Jesus Name.
