PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
16th January
Topic: GOD REWARDS; NOT LAZINESS…Part 4
Text: Proverbs 22:29KJV

29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men

In part three we discussed complete diligence, using Nehemiah and his team as case study of men who were diligent in business and in seeking God. Today we want to consider another case study of a man (David) who was completely diligent and the great exploit he achieved.

The story of David in 1 Samuel 17, shows clearly that David as a youth was very diligent both physically and spiritually. Physically because he was busy tending his father’s sheep in the bush, he was not lazy doing nothing, and he had this testimonies that when a bear and lion came after his father’s sheep he smote them as recorded in 1 Samuel 17: 34-35

And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

David was also diligent spiritually because if not he wouldn’t have been able to confront Goliath with such boldness telling Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:45-45

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LorD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

David could not have achieved such a great exploit to defeat a mighty warrior Goliath with a sling of stone and by the words of his testimony if he had not been a completely diligent man in his shepherd work and in seeking his God. Beloved great is your reward if you can be completely diligent this year and every obstacles before you like Goliath will be crushed in Jesus Name.

PRAYER:
* Father, please help me to be completely diligent in Jesus Name.
