Topic: THE PERFECT GOVERNMENT
Text: Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Every life, nation and territory is under one government or the other either physically or spiritually. Physically people, nations and territories are governed by elected or appointed political persons e.g nations governed by presidents, states by governors, local council developmental areas by local council chairmen, companies by MDs/CEOs, parastaters by ministers and commissioners, homes and families by fathers and mothers e.t.c Likewise spiritually there are forces or powers that govern lives, people, nations and territories e.g the land of Persia was governed by a spirit called the prince of persia according to Daniel 10, the mad men of Gardarene have legions of demons governing there lives before they had an encounter with Jesus according to Luke 8:26-39. None of the above mentioned governments is perfect, none guarantees peace, rather they all are governments full of corruption, trouble, evil, war, injustice, sorrow, death, hopelessness, oppression e.t.c The only government that is perfect, that guarantees peace, joy, justice, freedom, hope, life e.t.c is the government of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today the world is under a government raising a generation where it’s difficult to find youths or young men and even older men who are not into alcoholism, smoking or humanizing, a generation where matters of virginity before marriage is becoming an achiac tradition or what they called old school, a generation where corruption is seen as opportunity to make ends meet for oneself, a generation where sexual immorality at every level or stage of life is not seen as moral decadence but rather a normal way of life.
Beloved, there is just but one solution to all these and that is the government of Jesus, the perfect government that takes away the sins of the whole world, the perfect government that condemns no one but rather transforms and make that life a new. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
As we celebrate this season, the best thing that can happen to you is to surrender your life, home, nation to the government of Jesus, the only perfect government that guarantees peace. God bless you.
