Topic: THE SECRETS OF THE ENEMY
Text: Psalms 64:2-4KJV
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
Secrets exist in life both positively and negatively. Everyone has secret for example you must have heard people say the secret of my success, the secret of my strength, the secret of my achievement, while some have secret of their weakness. Likewise the enemies do have secrets, I mean the secrets of their wickedness, not only that, they also perpetuate their schemes in the secret or in darkness and never in the open or in the light.
Two things can be said about secrets, they are either hidden or exposed. Today we want discuss what happens when the secrets of the enemies are hidden.
* THEIR TARGET BECOMES A PREY: In 2nd Samuel 30, David and his warriors were out of their city Ziklag and before they returned, their land has been invaded by their emeny, burnt down and all their families and belongings carried away. David and his men were so sad and sorrowful that they wept bitterly till they had no more strength to weep. Had they been aware of the plan of their enemy, they certainly would have been prepared for what was coming but because it was hidden, their families became victims of the Amalekites. When the secret of the enemy is hidden, man becomes a prey to his enemy. A prey is at the mercy of his predator, a prey seem powerless and unable to deliver himself from his predator
* IT IS DIFFICULT TO ASCERTAIN THE CAUSE OR THE SOURCE OF AFFLICTION: When Job was afflicted by the devil, it was hidden to him what brought about his troubles. He never knew that devil had bargained about his life before God, devil had obtained a permission from God to afflict Job to proof if he was truly serving God for whom God is and not because of the blessings God had given to him. And so it was difficult to ascertain the cause or the source of his trouble. Job’s wife felt it was God and so advised Job to curse God and die according to Job 2:9. The three friends of Job also accused him of sin, that a man cannot be so righteous as Job claimed and would suffer such tribulations as recorded in Job 32:3
Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
When the secret of the enemy are hidden, the cause of attack is difficult to ascertained.
* THE ENEMIES OPERATE WITH EASE: Because their schemes are hidden to their target they operate easily, so easy that they could disguise as friends to their target until they had destroy him/her. Such enemy are described as the green snake under the green grass. It took time before David knew that Saul was no longer his friend but his enemy and yet David would visit Saul’s palace to perform his official duty. Samson was too blinded by lust that he never knew that Delilah was a plot of his enemy to get at him and destroy him and before he would realised he had fallen so deep that he desired to die with his enemy.
Beloved, when the secrets of the enemies are hidden men suffer greatly in the hands of their enemies. I pray that the secret of your enemies shall not be hidden in Jesus Name.
PRAYER:
* Father, let not the secret of my enemies be hidden to me in Jesus Name. Oh God expose them in the Mighty Name of Jesus
