PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
5th November
Topic: MIND THAT DISTRACTION…Part 10
Text: Psalms 119:37KJV

37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way

In part nine we discussed some steps on how to prevent or avoid distraction. Today we want to discuss further, how to prevent or avoid distraction because it’s safe to avoid distraction than dealing with distraction. Majorly in the process of dealing with distraction injury could be sustained, damages could be incurred and at times there could be loss. I pray for you that you shall not experience any loss in Jesus Name.

* Hear God: The Almighty God is our father, like a father he tends and cares for us, he does so specifically in leading and directing us. God speaks to direct our footsteps and that is a guarantee way to stay clear of distractions. Proverbs 3:5-6 says

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

One of the ways to trust in God is to wait patiently to hear him speak, and when he speaks, we get directions, and when their is a sense of direction, distraction is subdued greatly.

* Complete Obedience to God: It’s one thing to hear God, it’s another thing to obey him completely. God does not enforce his instructions upon man, and so it’s left for each one to obey what God says absolutely without waivering. Complete obedience to God is a trusted means to avoid distraction. The story of the young Prophet in 1Kings 13:11-25 is a good example of how incomplete obedience allows distraction. The young Prophet who was instructed expressly by God to go and deliver a message to a nation, was also warned not to eat there, drink there or go another way but due to incomplete obedience he allowed the old prophet in that land to distract him, disobeying God’s instructions and that led to the end of his life and ministry.

* Prayer: We said distraction is a potent tool of the devil in this end time against the children of God, and as the scripture admonishes that we should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil, it is therefore important to prayer always against distraction from the pit of hell. The mission of the devil is to steal, kill and destroy and distraction is a major way he achieves his mission, therefore to avoid being a victim of the devil, you must pray that God keep you away from distraction. God bless you

PRAYER:
* Father, do not allow distraction to swallow me up in this journey of life in Jesus Name.
