PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
3rd November
Topic: GRACE FOR SERVICE
Text: 2nd Corinthians 12:9 KJV

9 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Service to God comes in different forms and in different folds, it’s of course not limited to the four walls of the church. A lot of time, we have the archaic mindset that we can only render services to God (work for God) only in the church. It’s important we realise that today God empowers men to serve him beyond the walls of the church.

Let’s make it clearer for deeper understanding:

* Service to God (working for God) starts from the church: The primary place where we serve God is the church, there we learn the requirements, the dos and donts of working for God, we learn how to serve God and the different ways we can serve him. We are also trained or equiped with power and the spirit to serve God and finally we begin our journey in the service of God in the church in one department or the other e.g evangelism, choir, sanitation, protocols, ushering e.t.c. The point is we cannot rule out the church when we are talking about serving God because that it where it all began. The account of the early church, shows how they began to serve God from the temple then from house to house for fellowship according to Acts 2:46-47

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Now if say you serve God (I mean doing God’s work) but not in the church, I will like to ask the following questions. Where then is your foundation?, Where were you trained and to whom do you report?

Beloved, the house of God is your primary place to serve God and there you can receive the grace to serve. God bless you

PRAYER:
* Father, give me grace to serve you in Jesus Name
