PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
Topic: DEALING WITH REGRET …part 3.
Text : 1 Samuel 30:6.7.
6: And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
7: And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
Regret is defined as feeling bad about the loss. What is a man suppose to do when he experiences loss? That’s the focus here. When a man losses something precious it brings sharp pains within him, the effect of the pains in his life man can lead to further losses if care is not taken.
David is our case study here: he wept seriously when he discovered that he has lost so much, he wept with his men until they had no more power to weep look at verse 4:
Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
His men were discussing how to kill him, they regretted going out with him. Their actions would have led to further damages, imagine if they had killed David or David tried to defend himself while they were trying to kill him, it would have been bloody.
It is important you watch your actions when pondering over your sorrowful past, because your actions at that time can lead to further losses. David was able to do the right thing, he simply find a way into God’s presence. He knew he would always find solace there: he sought God”s face and God answered.
I know it can be difficult sometimes to pray when losses occur, but that’s the right thing to do, sometimes doing right things can be difficult, but it is the only option to getting right result.
The point of emphasis here is finding a way into his presence when the ships are down. I mean finding comfort in times of pains in his presence.
Through prayer the burden in your heart will be lifted. The next time you feel regret over a matter JUST PRAY. GOD BLESS YOU.
* Help me Lord to find solace through payer.
