PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
Topic: THE FOXES…part 3.
Text: Songs of Solomon 2:15.
15: Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
There are other foxes that destroy homes, let me discuss 2 here:
* Relationship: some marriages have been broken by friends and relatives, friends interfaring in family affairs can break up the home. People are fond of bringing their relatives into affairs of their home, what they could have settled between themselves they discuss with their parents, and in-laws which eventually makes matters worst.
Bringing third party into your marriage is synonymous to opening door to a fox, most times it is like fueling fire, friends of wife and husband have broken homes in time past. The only exception to this is when you seek counsel from a truly loving friend of the family, but you must ascertain that the fellow is truly a friend.
* Prioritise Relationship: you must understand that your spouse is not a relative or a friend but a part of you, how do I know? Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Your spouse is part of you and when Jesus was speaking in
…’ Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself ‘,
it means you can’t love your neighbor when you hate yourself.
When you understand that your spouse is part of you, you will always see he or she as number one, every other person comes second, your spouse is next after God, if this is not the order in your family you are creating an avenue for a fox to come in.
When your spouse discovers that you rate someone higher than he or she, you will be creating problem. No one, not even your pastor should take the place of your spouse.
This understanding will make your marriage work. God bless you.
* Help me Lord to get rid of the foxes that can ruin my marriage in Jesus name.
