PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
14th October
Topic: DEALING WITH MISTAKES.. Part 3
Text: Psalms 119:105.

105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Let me start this part by defining the word ‘ path ‘, you see if you are going to get the best of God’s word, you must give attention to every word, the phrase ‘ my path ‘ in our text must be given attention. Path is defined as established line of travel or access.

You must understand that there is an established line of travel for your life, I mean a particular one designed for you. You can’t just take the journey of your life anyhow if you must fulfil your destiny.

We make mistakes when we try to follow other people’s methods, when we can’t get the right direction for our lives. Let me explain this way for better understanding: if you have ever walked on bush path you will discover that the road is not always straight, most times you have to take a curve or bend to get to where you’re going, alternative to that is to walk in the bush which is dangerous because you might step on reptiles or dangerous objects, you just have to patiently keep your path to ensure safety.

Life’s journey is like walking on the bush path, no wonder the writer of our text said:

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

He knew that moving anyhow will land him in trouble, he wouldn’t want to make mistakes that will damage his life and so he clung to the word of God.

Studying and obeying God’s word make his bright light shine on our path. As we keep God’s word he guides us from mistakes. Obeying God’s word prevents us from entering into troubles.

Please permit to share this; I was in a relationship before I met my wife, and it would have cost me the regret of a lifetime, what kept me is the fact that I obeyed God’s word: no sex until you say ‘ I do ‘.

When we walk with the Lord, in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our ways. Knowing the scriptures, understanding them and living by them will keep you from making mistakes. God bless you.

PRAYER.
* Help me Lord to always obey your word in Jesus name.
