PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
3rd October
Topic: MIND THAT DISTRACTION
Text: Psalms 119:37KJV

37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way

Distraction is simply defined as something that turns your attention away from something you want to concentrate on.

The journey of life is meaningful when focus in place, a life achieves great things when there is focus but when there is distraction life journey may become meaningless, and achievement in life may become difficult. In other words, distraction is an enemy of life and an enemy of destiny, and so anyone who wants to have a meaningful journey in life must be very mindful of distraction.

The holy scriptures talk and give alot of admonitions against distraction for example;

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen (2 Timothy 2:4).
And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction (1 Corinthians 7:35).
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things (Luke 10:41).

Our point of emphasis today is that distraction is a thief, because it steals time. A man’s life and journey is a function of time, remember as the scripture puts it, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. So it means management of time is essentially to the life of everyman, and everyone who wants to be great must have proper orientation about his time on earth or lets say about the time of his life. Distraction steals the time of life of a man, when a man is distracted, the time he ought to achieve something is definitely extended, delay sets in and at times such thing is never achieved again because the opportunity may never presents itself again. Time is precious in everyman’s life but as previous as it is, distraction steals it and makes it a waste because nothing meaningful is achieved at the period of distraction.

Beloved, mind that distraction, it’s there to steal your time, waste your life and delay the fulfilment of your destiny. Focus on your God, looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith. God bless you.
