PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
26th September
Topic: THE WORLD OF SIN….Part 8
Text: John 16:7-8KJV

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.

In part seven, we discussed that the world of sin is a world of slavery to the devil
Today as we round off on this series, we want to discuss that Jesus Christ came and also sent the Holyspirit to reprove the world of sin.
Reprove means to scold or correct usually gently or with kindly intent, it implies an often kindly intent to correct a fault. It also means to rebuke, reprimand, reproach e.t.c Jesus came in the flesh to correct the world of sin with the world of righteousness, he came to condemn sin, to destroy sin in man as stated in 1st John 3:8 saying

… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus came to rebuke the world of sin by the authority in his name according to Acts 4:12 saying

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus took away the sins of the world by offering himself as a ransome paying the debt of sin that the world owe with his own blood. So to come out from the world of sin is to embrace the power of salvation in Jesus Christ by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
After, you have accepted Jesus into your life, it does not end there, the Holyspirit continues the work of reprove to the world of sin. From our scriptural text above, Jesus promised when he was leaving the earth, that he will not leave us comfortless, rather he will send the Comforter who is the Holyspirit and when he comes he will reprove the world of sin. The Holyspirit helps a believer to stay permanently out of the world of sin and remain in the righteousness of God, he reminds a believer the truth of the word of God which is powerful to keep such believer firm in faith, he directs and guides a believer on the path of righteousness so as not to fall back into the world of sin. So beloved, you need the Holyspirit after that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour so that you may not go back into your vomit.
Dear reader, there is nothing good about the world of sin, even if it may seem pleasurable, it’s only but for a very short moment with prolonged, disastrous, and even everlasting end results, therefore I encourage you today to disconnect from sin, its works and it’s world, come to Jesus, come to the light, come to the saving power of his salvation, befriend the Holyspirit and be absolutely free from the bondage of sin. God bless you
