Topic: ARISE AND BUILD…Part 5
Text: Nehemiah 4:6
6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work
In part four we said Jesus seeks to build a church on the truth of God’s words which one of such truth is the truth about salvation. We also addressed the faulty doctrine of ONCE SAVED, FOREVER SAVED with scriptural explanations from the bible.
Today we want to discuss on building glorious lives. Jesus our Lord and Saviour while on earth raised and built the lives of men, he transformed fishermen like Peter and Andrew to fishers of men and apostles of the gospel (Matt 4:19), he trasnformed saul a persecutor of the church to his disciple (Acts 9), he transformed Zaccheus a tax collector and extortioner into a disciple.
The Apostles of the early church in like manner built and raised glorious lives, Acts 6:3&5 which says
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
gives an account of seven men of honest report full of power and the Holyghost who were to stand in for the apostle in welfare ministry of the church.
Beloved, as a church we must seek to build glorious lives, we must raise men to discover and fulfil their purpose, men who have the understanding of times and seasons like the sons of Issachar and not a generation of vipers or mixed multitude. As a church the lives of men are committed in our hands to nurture, train and build to become true disciples of Christ and soldiers of the cross. We must not fail God to build his church, to raise men of valour just as we were raised and discipled, because we shall give account to God how we nuture his flock. Even Jesus gave account to God of his disciples in John 17:12 saying
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Dear reader, if you have been redeemed by the Lord of the church, you have a part to play to build his church (lives of men) to fulfil his purpose, do not fail your master in this quest. God bless you

* Father, help me to be committed to raising men to live glorious lives in Jesus Name.
