Topic: THE WORLD OF SIN…Part 3

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.

In part two we discussed that the world of sin is a world full of lusts and ungodly pleasures such as lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life.
Today, we want to discuss another feature of the world of sin and that is lie. A life living in the world of sin is a life painted with lies and without truth. If that thing is a sin then it mostly likely will have an element of lies. Lies bring about deception and deception could result into destruction.
We want to consider lies as a feature of the world of sin in three categories:
* LIES OF THE DEVIL: Lie is simply the opposite of truth, devil speaks nothing but lies because there is no truth in him and it is impossible for him to speak the truth, John 8:44 attested to this saying

“Ye are of your father the devil, ….and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it”.

And so it means if the devil tells you anything it certainly must be a lie and the truth is simply the opposite of what he has said. For example if the devil wispers to you that what you are about to do does not matter or insignificant, then you should know that the truth is that what you are about to do matters and highly significant. Many people have been deceived into a world of lies from the devil and they are trapped in there. One of such lies that is that the devil is very powerful or even the most powerful, and so they seek him for power to achieve there goals, to protect and to defend themselves. The devil of course, gives them the so called power to meet that short term needs, however many on the long-run would later realised that the cost of getting the power and maintaining it is much more than they bargained for. Many often sacrifice lives of their love ones or important part of their body to sustain it. Many become entangled so deep that when they made attempt to opt out, they are threatened with death.
Beloved, don’t be decieved by the lies of the devil, the power he gives is full of darkness and of course you know when darkness encounters the light, darkness will disappear. The truth of the scriptures is

that all power in heaven and on the earth belongs to Jesus (Matthew 28:18).

Another truth is that devil is a fallen angel, defeated and cast down to earth from heaven because of pride (Rev 12:7-10), so why seek power from a loser?.
As I conclude, there are many lies of the devil, that time won’t permit to be meantioned here, but for the purpose of awareness let’s briefly take another one which a lie that “devil can give man everything he wants very fast and quickly whereas God is slow”. There are many things the devil can’t give, he cannot give you peace and joy, he can’t give good success but rather a false success. Know for sure that God is never slow and never late, scriptures says

he is the very present help in time of need (Psalms 46:1).

The lies of the devil are all about deception which end in destruction, so be not deceived. If you are trapped in his lies, Jesus is the only way out, he alone has the power to deliver you from the lies and the captivity of the devil, just surrender your life to Jesus Christ. God bless you.
