Topic: MIND THERAPY…Part 2.
Text : Luke 18:1 .
1: Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).
Your mind is needed in the place of prayer, this is the focus in this part, when challenges occur it disturbs the mind and to pray most times becomes a challenge. When the heart of a man is heavy he finds it difficult to think of prayer which is the solution to the heaviness on his heart.
It is the duty of a man to ensure problem do not becloud his mind, weeping most times is considered as an option when bad things happen, but it is important you understand that
tears only tear things down, it doesn’t mend things.
Let’s examine the two words ‘ tears ‘ and ‘ tear ‘ the difference in spellings is just ‘ s ‘ , both words are considered as noun in part of speech. They Function in the same part of speech but with different meanings.
They have correlation in situations and circumstances, how do I mean? Tears flows when precious things are torn (past tense of tear) apart, also when tears flows one might take wrong decision. Tears is a function of the state of mind, it is a clear indication that the mind is troubled.
When your tears lead you to the place of prayer you can be sure of a song of victory, but when it discourages your heart/mind from praying it will tear things down the more.
Jesus speaking in our passage;
Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up) Amplified.
He knows circumstances and situations can make anyone lose heart instead of praying and so, he urged us to take the option of praying instead of losing heart.
Jesus said, ‘….they (men) ought always to pray and not to lose heart ‘, it is the responsibility, duty, obligation of men to pray, in other words, he meant no man has reason to lose heart, that is give up praying.
I observed that the bible use mind and heart interchangeably, how do I know? Check the dictionary meanings of both mind and heart. I see Jesus telling his disciples that the way to take care of your heart/mind (MIND THERAPY) is to pray always even when you have reasons not to pray.
Don’t let your mind be so heavy that you wouldn’t be able to pray.
Don’t allow what you are going through to drive you away from the place of prayer, rather bring your bleeding heart, your troubled mind to the place of prayer that you might find help. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, present everything that bothers your mind to God.
