Topic: POSSIBILITIES …part 6
Text : Matthew 8:2,3
2: And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me.
3: And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed. Amplified.
It is has been inspiring since we began, glory to God for inspiration. This is an account of a special miracle, and I want to analyse how it happened.
First of all you need to understand that leprosy is a communicable disease, that means it can spread to people around, and so lepers are not permitted to live with cleansed human beings.
The leper heard about Jesus and decided to meet him, this man’s problem and solution was described by just 2 verses of the scriptures, but somethings happened before the miracle took place.
Note the phrase ‘ came up to him ‘, mind you lepers are separated from the people, he must have embarked on a Journey to see Jesus, he probably must have seen people who would have asked him; where are you going, don’t you know you are not suppose to come among cleansed people? A leper is a pariah who is being avoided by others, he is kept from community and society, people must have asked him what are you doing here?
Look at verse 1 of our passage;
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. This leper have to prevail over the huge crowd to see Jesus, that was his first breakthrough.
The second thing here is that he worshipped Jesus, this is adoration, he accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour, he gave his life to Christ, he worshipped him as the savior of the universe. His statement was what activated his miracle, look at it here
‘…. Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me ‘.
The word ‘ Lord ‘ is loaded with honour and supremacy.
I see the leper saying: the only thing that can stop my miracle now is if you’re not willing because my faith is strong in you, and I know you can do it if you’re willing, you have all it takes to cleanse me. He had prepared his mind to see Jesus by force by fire, he made up his mind to prevail over the huge crowd. A lot of work must have been done in his mind, to the extent that no number of people could stop him.
His statement shows there was no doubt in his mind about this miracle, and finally when he got to Jesus, he said the only thing that can stop me now is your unwillingness, my mind is set for this miracle. The leper only set his mind for the miracle and no one and nothing could stop it. The mindset determines miracle, there mustn’t be doubt in your mind about it.
It is the desire of God for you to live well, he is willing to make your life comfortable. God bless you.

* As we wait upon the Lord, set you mind for your desired miracle and ask God for it.
