PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
21st July
Topic: SEEKERS AND KEEPERS..Part 2
Text: Matthew 6:33KJV

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

In part one we discussed that to seek means to search for, to look for. The seekers are those who go in search for God, Jeremiah 29:13 makes it very clear saying “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart”. So seeking God involves searching for God. The keepers are those who observe, obey and do the will of God, they don’t joke with God’s words and instructions, they have personal relationship with God beyond what life can offer to them.
Not all seekers are keepers and there are different kinds of seekers based on their motive of searching for God, one of such are:
THE TRUE SEEKERS: God is in search of such Seekers who are true, genuine and faithful. Unlike others they seek God not for material things, nor for money and not primarily for solutions to their problems. Rather, they seek God genuinely because they want to know him, because they want to have intimate relationship with him, because they understand that without God they are nothing. The true Seekers understand clearly our scriptural text today that if any man seeks God and his righteousness first, every other thing will follow, they are not moved if those things did not come on time or as expected because for sure they know God makes all things beautiful in his time and so they first want more of God and other things will fall into place with time. The true Seekers are not like other who may follow God for a period of time in a quest to get what they want from God, and when it seems God is slow, or not answering their requests they turn away from following him and seek alternatives. The true Seekers don’t get tired following the Lord, come what may, good or bad, rain or sunshine, in plenty or scarcity they would seek the Lord.
A powerful scripture that describes the true Seekers is the word of King David in Psalms 40:1-2 saying As the Hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?. This brings to mind a great song of worship with the lyrics;
As the deer pants for the water. So my soul longs after you. You alone are my heart’s desire. And I long to worship…

Beloved, God seeks for true seekers who will seek him to know him more, who will seek him for the manifestation of his power in the land, who will seek him for the salvation and deliverance of others from sin, who will seek him to bring down his kingdom into the lives of men. So beloved are you a true Seeker? Think on these things… God bless you.
