Topic: YOUR PLACE…part 8.
Text: Leviticus 26:6.
6; “I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land. NLT.
The focus here is security in your land. When a land is not secured, enemies can ravage the land and devour it harvest.
Let me quickly analyze our text: I want to emphasis the sentence ‘ I will rid the land of wild animals ‘, wild animals in scriptural terms connotes evil spirits, when you see wild animals in your dream it connotes evil spirits.
In the context of our passage God was speaking to the Isrealites that if they obey his voice he will rid wild animals out of their land. KJV replaced the wild animals with EVIL BEAST, applying the scriptures to your life it connotes evil spirit.
Their activity is to cause damages in the land, they devour harvest, they do not allow one to enjoy his or her labour.
Judges 6:6,7. described this well, look at it here ;
5, For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.
6, And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord.
Isreal was greatly impoverished by the activities of their enemies. This is what evil spirits do, they are devourers.
In Malachi 3:10-11 God spoke about them:
10: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11: And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
You see God recognized and mentioned the devourer here. The good news is that the devourer is not meant to overpower you.
God is committed to rebuking the devourer in your life, many people have lost precious things to devourers, many lives have be lost through the activities of the devourers. If you cooperate with God the devourer will have no place in your life.
HOW DO I COOPERATE WITH GOD?
1, Obey the commandments of God Leviticus 26:1-9.
2, Pay your tithe Malachi 3:9-11.
3, Rebuke the devourer James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
You have what it takes to paralyse the devourer, awake to your responsibilies and enjoy the harvest of your land. Eat the fruit of your labour. You shall not labour in vain any more in Jesus name.
PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today rebuke the devourer around your life and family.
