PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
23rd June
Topic: SEEKERS AND KEEPERS
Text: Matthew 6:33KJV

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

To seek means to search for, to look for. The seekers are those who go in search for God, Jeremiah 29:13 makes it very clear saying “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart”. So seeking God involves searching for God. The keepers are those who observe, obey and do the will of God, they don’t joke with God’s words and instructions, they have personal relationship with God beyond what life can offer to them.
Not all seekers are keepers and there are different kinds of seekers based on their motive of searching for God:
* MATERIAL DRIVEN SEEKERS: These seekers go in search for God basically because of their lack and the need for material things that can make them enjoy their lives on earth. They are in serious and dear need for material possessions that they could go to any length to fast and pray for God to visit them, but as soon as God answers them and meet their needs they mostly end their search of God and might even sever any serious relationship with God.
* MONEY DRIVEN SEEKERS: This class of seekers are in search of God for financial blessings and prosperity, they can go into serious search attending church services, programs, conferences, e.t.c just for God to release blessing upon them. They often desire one on one contact with men of God to pray for them and release God’s blessings and anointing on them to prosper. However, ones they get what they wanted, most often, they become too busy for church services and their search for God end.
* PROBLEM-SOLUTION DRIVEN SEEKERS: This category search for God to solve their spiritual problems e.g delay in marriage, barrenness, joblessness, poverty, sickness, oppression of darkness e.t.c They go to any length to seek God intervention over their problems and challenges. When they found God’s mercy and their mountains of problems are brought low, they also like other most often forget about their commitment and tasty search for God.
Beloved, not all seekers are keepers and certainly these three categories of seekers we have discussed are not keepers because they can refrain from seeking God if their aim is not achieved on time (and search for alternatives) or their search stop immediately when their need is met. God is in search of seekers and keepers, not just any kind of seekers but seekers that are keepers. What kind of seekers are you? God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, make a seeker of you and a keeper of your word.
