Topic: MORE THAN SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
Text: Romans 12:1 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
We have emphasized times and again that God loves to be praised, that praise is to God what food is to man. Your sacrifice of praise is important to God because God seeks men who will worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). The heavenly creatures; the angels, the 24 elders and the beast primarily have just one duty and that is to praise God without ceasing saying “holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, the whole earth be filled with his glory”(Revelations 4:7-11)
As much as God loves to be praised, as much as your sacrifice of praise is so dear to God, there is something that is more important to God than your sacrifice of praise, something without which your praise will amount to noise and disturbance to God, something that makes your sacrifice of praise unacceptable and your effort wasted and that is the sacrifice of your life.
By the word “sacrifice”, it means to offer, surrender, give it up and give it all. You must offer yourself to God as a sacrifice primarily before you can go a step further in offering your sacrifice of praise. Our text above says it all, Apostle Paul pleading that we present our bodies a living sacrifice unto God. Beloved, giving your life to God is more than offering your praises to him, I mean what is the use of a delicious meal served in a very dirty place, of course the food will be discarded. So without your life being right with God, your praise is as good as noise and jamboree to God.
Dear reader, the sacrifice or offering of your life first, then the sacrifice of your praise and not vice versa. As you read this devotional this morning in readiness for today’s service, offer your life to God, it’s more than your sacrifice of praise. God bless you

* Father, I surrender my life to you as a living sacrifice in Jesus Name.
