29th May
Text: Psalms 63: 1-3.

1: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2: To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3: Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

The Psalmist share experience of his encounter with God. He was a devoted worshipper and now he understands how to do secure the power and glory of God. In today’s passage he was telling us how he did behold the glory of God.
The scripture is interesting, God’s ways are taught in clear terms, you can easily find his counsel and discover his awesome acts through his word. God is always there to manifest himself to anyone who seeks him. The Psalmist gave a clear picture how he did seek God to behold his glory.
In verse 1 he said, ‘ O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee..’ Seeking God early was a daily activity, he wanted to see the power and glory of God. He knew that when he sees God’s glory, the glory will reflect in his life. The word early can function in 2 context:
1, Early as in early in the morning, seeking was his first assignment for each day, he wouldn’t replace anything with that, he did wake up early to seek God before he gets busy for the day. How many times do we run out in a haste to catch up with the business of the day?
2, Early as in his youthful age, look at Ecclesiates 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them. Early can stand for his youthful days, he wouldn’t postpone the time he will serve God but rather serve God in his days of strength.
Seeking God is the only way for glory manifestation. This is the message the Psalmist was passing here. The place of glory is the presence of God, as we seek him daily and early he would cause glory to manifest in our lives. God bless you.
* Help me Lord, to seek you daily and early.
Isaiah 25, 2 Corinthians 2.
