Topic:: ANTIDOTE TO DISCOURAGEMENT…part 2.
Text : Joshua 1:6,7,9.

6: Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7: Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
9: Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

In part 1, I discussed reasons for discouragement and the person that can be discouraged, of course, anyone can be discouraged if care is not taken. My aim here is to deal with discouragement, let me come out this way; you must understand that what you see and what you hear can bring discouragement.
Every man who lives his life from the outside prepares himself for discouragement. If what you see or what you hear determines how you live your life then, you will experience discouragement frequently. The strength of every man is on his inside not on the outside. God told me many years ago amidst my challenges, I heard him in clear terms when he said, ‘ Yemi, the courage within can withstand the pressure without ‘, over the years I have broken through hard walls and barriers.
Everyone who has courage within himself and herself will break limitations, barriers and obstacles. Before every promise land are always challenges, strong men and strong things will appear to challenge you on your way to your promise land, I told you in part one that the devil does not give up on anyone until he or she takes his or her last breath.
In our passage, Joshua was to take over the leadership of the Israel after Moses has been discouraged and made to sin against God by the actions of the people, he was discouraged by their words and their actions, please note: what he heard and what he saw, it became absolutely important for God to stress this warning about courage to Joshua and so 3 verses within 9 verses of Joshua 1 emphasis COURAGE.
In Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage …
In Joshua 1:7 Only be strong and be very courageous …
In Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
If there is anything God wants to tell you, it is the same thing he told Joshua, if you must get to your promise land COURAGE IS INEVITABLE. God bless you.
