Topic: THE PRAISES OF ISRAEL… Part 4
Text: Psalms 22:3KJV

23 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

I want to draw the curtain on this series here. Last week we discussed the features or qualities of the praise of Israel that makes God to dwell in it, that makes it pleasing unto God. Some more qualities or features are:
* IT IS SPIRITUAL: The songs of praises the Israelites offered to God were spiritual songs that uplifted their spirit, that connected their spirit-man to access heaven not carnal songs that only entertain the flesh. John 4:24 says God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God must be worshipped in spirit, if we must bring down his presence into our worship whether individually or in the church. Even Ephesians 5:19 says “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and SPIRITUAL songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” because carnal songs that entertain the body leave the soul empty and makes a man remain the same but spiritual songs connect the spirit of the man/people to God. In simple term, God is a spirit, man can only connect or communicate to God through his spirit and offering spiritual songs of praise & worship is an avenue to attain that. So if you must worship God, you have to do so in the spirit.
* IT IS TRUE: The praises of Israel were true praises or worship. True in the sense that it was real not carmouflage or pretense, it was holy not contaminated, it was familiar to God not strange and it was spiritual not carnal. John 4:23 says But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is always in search of true worshippers, why? It is because that is the kind of worship/praise/sacrifice that God desires now( this time/this hour) and not a strange one (offered by sons of Aaron the priest) and because only true worshippers can worship him in spirit and in truth.
Dearly beloved, God is holy and he inhabits the praise of Israel because the praise of Israel is Holy, not strange, it’s spiritual and it’s true. What kind of praise will you offer to God? As you attend service today ensure you praise him in spirit and in truth. God bless you
