Topic: LESSONS FROM THE SAMARITAN..part 3.
Text : Luke 10:33-35.
33: But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34: And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35: And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
The emphasis here is the price the Samaritan paid; helping someone cost something, in fact, sometimes cost much. Sometimes the money you have kept for something important you have to go to save a life.
Every passionate person compares his state with the state of the person in need, he sees himself better and then he releases a lending hand of help. A passionate person says in his heart, how can I have this and someone is in need? Not that he does not have needs himself, but considers the other person in need more than himself.
Generosity is an attribute of a passionate heart, he sees himself as help channel, he feels that God has raised him to bless others, he doesn’t see those in need as though they are disturbing, but as ground on which he should sow his seed.
A passionate man does not consider what he has as his own and for family members only, but that God has blessed him to bless others, he carries the burden of the needy, he bears the pains of the needy.
A passionate person understands that God has sent him to the needy, the poor, someone in need of help, the helpless, the hopeless, the destitute. He sees himself as hope to the hopeless, as strength to the weak, source of help to the helpless.
People who don’t help always have 2 bad opinions about help:
1, If I dont help him or her another person will do.
2, Everybody has problem, I have mine you have yours, carry your cross while I carry mine. These statements form bad mindset, anyone you have capacity to help, do not refrain from helping. God bless you.
* Make me a blessing to people around me.
* Use me to give hope to the hopeless.
