Topic: THE SECRETS OF STRENGTH…..Part 3
Text: Proverbs 24:10KJV

10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Life is full challenges that no one can do without, to everyman challenges come in different ways just as it’s being said different strokes for different folks but what is important is overcoming those challenges and our text says if a man fail in the days of adversity, his strength is small. Therefore what kind of strength can overcome all the challenges of life and what kinds cannot.?
* SELF-BASED: This is a kind of strength from men who are full of themselves, such believe so much in themselves majorlly because of their experiences in life and their achievements. Goliath is a very good example here, he relied so much in himself, his experiences as a warrior, his physical stature and his skills as a captain of the Philistines but when he met the young David on the battle field this kind of strength failed him (Read 1 Samuel 17).
* PEOPLE-BASED: This kind is dependant on others for strength. Wife on husband and vice versa, children on parents, friends to friends e.t.c Usually when the one who is the source of strength is no more or disappoints it breaks the heart, chatters and makes the one who depends on them very weak. Some wives never recovered and bounce back to life because they lost their husbands, likewise some children had their lives go down to the pit and without recovery because they lost their parents. Such strength is also small.
* GOD-BASED: This is the only true and guarantee source of strength that cannot fail in the days of adversity, it’s no small strength at all. It guarantees peace in the midst of trouble, it says all hope is not lost, it says there is a way even when obviously there is no way. One man that exhibited GOD-BASED strength from the scripture is Job. Job was befallen by one of the greatest adversity in life, in one day he lost ten children, lost his empire of business, his wife deserted him and lost his health but despites, he did not waiver, discouraged or bow his head to the challenges, rather he believed and held on in his faith to God. He said some power words in those times of adversity. Job 14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Job overcame his adversity and God restored his losses with double.
Beloved, what kind of strength do you have, what have you made the source of your strength. Think about it….
