PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
19th April .
Topic: HIS CROSS AND YOUR CROSS.
Text : Colossians 2:14 .
14: Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
One of the dictionary meanings of the cross is; THE MEETING POINT, to die on the cross was not only humiliating, but a slow and agonizing experience.
While medical theories traditionally assert that people died on the cross from asphyxia (respiratory failure), recent studies contend that the victims most likely died because of a variety of physiological factors. Regardless of the actual cause of death, crucifixion was a slow and excruciatingly painful death.
My focus here is to explain the meaning of the CROSS: from the dictionary we got THE MEETING POINT. This means 2 things were joined together, the meeting of point of 2 dispensations.
The crucifixion of Christ was to end a dispensation and begin another dispensation. The Crucifixion is a major course in history since the existence of the world, the cross changed the order of creation both in heaven and on earth.
The crucifixion of Jesus is one event that shook the heavens and the earth, how do I know? Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2: And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3: And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4: And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5: And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
John was able know this by revelation, the death and resurrection of Jesus is no joke, God wasn’t trying to experiment something, or trying to prove something, but was an actual event that needed to take place to effect a change in heaven and on earth.
You must understand that God does not repent of his works, he doesn’t break orders he put in place, he had set the world in motion when Adam and Eve made a mess of the process that took him 7 whole days, the 7th day was to establish rest for man. Crucifixion brought about change in the dealings of God to man, the harsh instant punishment borne by sinners in the old testament was eradicated by crucifixion.
The Cross is the pointing in the order of creation. It is a point where God made a man to bear the punishment of many, in the old testament people pay for their sins as they commit them, but here God transferred the punishment of all to a man. It have to be a man, not a spirit, or an angel, it was man who fell, it will be wrong to make an angel or a spirit pay for the sins of men.
Someone wants to say; why will God demand for that kind of grievous punishment before he can save humanity? If God could punishment Adam and Eve and everyone who had sinned, it will be unfair to let some go free without anyone paying for their sins, and so, it was necessary for Jesus to experience the worst kind of punishment for the worst sinner. If the punishment had been less it might not be sufficient to save a terrible sinner.
God would be unfair to many generations past who had suffered for their sins if no one pays for our sins and he suddenly declare us saints. I will continue tomorrow. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* I repent of all sins, I receive grace not to go back to them in Jesus name.
