Topic: LOOK UP….Part 2
Text: Psalms 35:5KJV
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
In Part 1 of this topic, we discussed that to look up which signifies hope, faith, not giving up, is better than to look down and that God detests looking down like the ten spies in Numbers 13 did because it is a sign of unbelieve. Today we want to discussed another salient point and that is who should you look up to?
In as much as to look up is good, who you look up to is very important as it determines the result you get in life. Many people look up to their fellow men for help, support, encouragement and as mentors. It is not out of place to look up to men especially as a mentor wanting to be like them positively and not negatively, neither is it out of place to expect support, help and encouragement from your fellow men but the issues that pertain to looking up to men are that men are limited, so they could dissapoint you, they are mortal, so they could have died before they fulfil their promise to you, and they themselves need help, support and encouragement.
The only sure and guarantee person to look up to is God Almighty, the maker of the heavens and the earth.
From our text above, the men of old looked up to him their faces became radiant and were not put to shame,
In Psalms 121:1-2 David said he will look unto the hills because his help comes from the Lord,
In Hebrews 12:2 the scriptures says we should look unto Jesus because he is the author and the finisher of our faith.
Beloved, the Almighty God is not limited in any way, he is immortal (cannot die) and he is the omniscience, omnipotent and omnipresence. So look up to God he is the ever present help in times of need. God bless you
* Father, help to look up to you in every journey of my life in Jesus Name.
