PREVAILNG VOICE DAILY

Topic: SETTING PRIORITIES.
Text : Luke 14:28-30
28: For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29: Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30: Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Priority is defined as status established in order of importance and urgency. Too many things call for attention in life, but the resources available are usually limited. It doesn’t matter how much you have got, if you can’t set priorities you will still be stranded soon.
Setting priority makes one’s life easier, there are things that can wait while others cannot, every wise man invest in income generating projects. It is a man who is not wise that will spend all he earns. The question I want to answer here is; why do you need to set priorities? It is important because things are changing, time is changing, economy is changing, in fact, you’re also changing, you won’t be young forever, what you’re doing now, you might not be able to do them sometimes to come, the way you get money now, you might not be able to get money like that in future if you can’t set priorities now.
Setting priorities will bring a change in the next 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, please permit to share my experience, it will help someone, I was just 24 when my mum was building her house, I was already working then, I was investing all I made to her house, of course I had other things that were calling for money, but I see that as priority, for many years now I have saved what I could have paid as rent for her. What you are spending money on now how beneficial will it be in the next 5, 10, 15 years. I see people make trips abroad not for business but for luxury, it is not bad if they have investment that can bear the expenses, but if not I see it as misplaced priority.
Money doesn’t respect anyone who doesn’t respect it, if you don’t have respect for money, that is if you spend money anyhow you will soon be in serious need of it. Channeling your resources is the key point I am making here, living in luxury is misplaced priority if you are lacking investments that can pay for them.
Setting priorities is saving your strength and energy, saving your age, by prioritizing you will be working less in future, if you can prioritize well you wouldn’t need to be working so hard in future because you would have made investments that can generate good income effortlessly. Setting priorities is buying over the stress of the future, when others are still using strength to make money, your invested fund will be working for you.
Let me be practical enough, changing cars is luxury, paying high amount as rent is luxury, sending your children to highly expensive school is luxury, you can prioritize with what you earn now. Ask yourself this question: what will my life look like in 5,10, 15 years? Add 15 years to your age and imagine what your strength will look like then. PRIORITIZE beloved. God bless you.
