Topic: THE HOLD OF SIN ….Part 2
Text: Matthew 11:28-30KJV
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
In part 1 of this devotional topic, we said that sin is an identity, it is like a disease, it has grip, it is slavery and it is a destroyer. Sin has held many lives in captivity and many are still being held in such bondage till now, some have been delivered and liberated, so the good news is that you too can be free from the hold of sin.
The only solution to be free from the hold of sin is Jesus. The salvation of God through Jesus Christ is the only way out, He made a call to all under the hold of sin to come unto him, that he will give them rest according to Matt 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
Before Jesus can liberate you from the hold of sin, you’ve got some parts to play and they are:
* BELIEVE: You must believe in Jesus for your freedom, believe Jesus can save you and that he will save you from your sins. John 1:12 says as many that believe in him, he gives them power to become the sons of God. So your faith in Jesus is what he needs to exchange your sinful nature for his righteousness.
* ACCEPT: Now that you believe on Jesus Christ, you need to accept him into your life as your new Lord (no longer the devil) and Saviour. As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God…(John 1:12). When you receive Jesus into your life, he translates you from darkness into light, from slavery to sonship and from being bond to being free.
* SURRENDER: Now that you have accepted Jesus in your heart into your life, you need to surrender your totality to him so that he can keep them all and break the hold of sin that has spread and eaten deep into every aspect of your life.
Dearly beloved, come unto Jesus today, he will set you free and break the hold of sin over your life. God bless you

* Jesus, I come unto you today, break everyhold of sin in my life.
