Topic: FROM ABOVE…
Text: John 3:27.
27: John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Someone is behind all our achievements, successes, breakthroughs, and prosperity. Man can’t do anything of his own power and strength, Hannah confirms this in 1 Samuel 2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. It is God who permits anyone to become what he is, and what he has achieved.
A good home begins with a good man and a good woman, and it’s also gotten by the favour of the Lord, that is from above: Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. If you’re single you need the favour of the Lord to get a good future partner, and that comes from above.
Every man and woman desires a prosperous home, but many homes are not. Yours will be in the name of Jesus.
You must understand that no one receives anything except it be given him from heaven, if your home must experience transformation, if you want lasting joy in your home, if you want significant achivements with relevant timing you have to stay in touch with the store house of heaven.
As parents grow they want to see their children prosper, a time comes when the desires and dreams of the children becomes that of their parents, it must be in our consciousness that we can only receive from above, we must also build that in our children. I remember how my dad did ask me to pray anytime I asked him for something. He built in me the attitude of prayer, one day I told myself; must I pray before I get anything? So, I refused to pray but kept disturbing my dad, it wasn’t easy. He didn’t know I didn’t pray, but I know I didn’t. He was simply trying to teach me how to receive a thing, it is always from above.
I see many parents train their children to focus on them rather than God, they say, ‘ just ask me anything, I will give you ‘, but it is better to say, ‘ ask me and pray about it, without God we can’t achieve anything ‘. We were on our way to church one Sunday morning, I mistakenly drove into a pit, one of the tyres got hooked, I noticed my children were calm, we successfully got the car out, I just heard my daughter, a 7 year old girl, said, ‘ I have been praying to God to get the car out of the pit, praise God ‘. We simply built in them an attitude of prayer.
Our children must understand that whatever we have is released to us from above, they see us as super men, you hear children say, ‘ my dad will do this and do that, my mum will buy this and buy that ‘, it is important we make them know we are nothing without God, it is he who provides the money we spend, the cars will drive, and the food we eat.
