Topic: WHEN TIME IS GONE
Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1KJV
3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
Time is of the essence of life, because life is time and time is life. Time is precious in the life of men on earth just as our text says there is time for every purpose under the heaven. Time is also precious to God because Ecclesiastes 3:11 says He makes all things beautiful in His time and time is equally precious to the devil just as the scripture says in Revelation 12:12 “… the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time”, so time is important to men, to God and to the devil.
Almost everyday, I hear phrases such as NO TIME and TIME IS GONE. ” No Time” connotes not enough time to accomplish a task or let me just say the time is short, while “Time is Gone” connotes the period to accomplish a task has expired. Beloved, with respect to the offer of salvation for men, repentance from sin and judgement of God upon sinners, there is NO TIME (time is short) and TIME WILL SOON BE GONE (soon expire).
Making inference from our text above, there is a time on earth or under the heaven to repent from sin, there is a time to accept the salvation of God, there is a time to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. But beloved, when that time is gone, there shall be:
* No More Repentance: Any one who refuses to repent here on earth before the time of death comes or before the time of rapture comes shall no longer have room to repent.
* No More Excuse: Whatever excuse you have to refuse the salvation of God expires here on earth. When the time is gone, there shall be no excuse genuine or acceptable before God, because there will be cloud of witnesses in heaven whose story are more grevious and pertectic than yours and yet they never allowed their story to be an excuse to reject the salvation of God. Hebrews 12 :1 says it all “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, …”
Dearly beloved, today is the day of salvation and now is the time because when the time is gone, then all hope is gone. God bless you
* Father, I come unto you today, save me now and let me not be lost forever in Jesus Name.
