PREVAILING VOICE DAILY

Topic: GOD AND HIS WORD
Text: John 1:1 KJV

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The word of God is very important to us his children as much it is important to God, it forms the basis of the relationship between God and men. God impacts men through his words, he directs, guides, delivers and blesses men by his word, so the importance of God’s word to man cannot be over emphasised, in fact when every thing else fails and heaven and earth passes away, the word will still remain.
However, as important and great as the word of God is to the lives of men, very many do not understand or recognise the word nor do they experience the power thereof. Today we want to consider the relationship between God and his word for our understanding.
* GOD & HIS WORD ARE INSEPARABLE: God cannot be separated from his word, where ever God is, there is his word and where ever the word of God is, there is God present. Our scriptural text above states it clearly that the word was with God from the beginning. So it means if God is with you, his word will not be scarce in your life and on the other hand if you have the word of God with you it is an indication that God is there with you.
* THE WORD IS GOD HIMSELF: John 1:1 says ...and the word was with God and the word was God. The word of God is God himself can be explained with this illustration; Asumming you need a favour from the president of your nation, and on the spot he picks his phone and put a call through to one of his ministers saying ” am sending a man to you, kindly attend to his needs”, you can be sure that when you meet the minister he will carry out the instruction (word) of the president to the letter, eventhough the president is not there physically because the word (instruction) of the president is as good as the president himself. So if God gives you his words, he has given you Himself.
* GOD EXALTS HIS WORD: Psalms 138:2 says “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” God magnifies his words above his name, it means if God gives you his words he will fulfil it to the letter without failing. God does not joke with his words, whatever he says he will do, he will surely do.
Beloved, if God would not joke with his word, then you should not either, rather value God’s words and believe his words. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to see your word as you see it in Jesus Name.
