Topic: THE LORD REIGNS
Text: Isaiah 9:7 KJV

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

The Almighty is the supreme God, a king and a ruler he is, he reigns forever and he rules everywhere. Our scriptural text says there is no end to the increase or enlargement of his government. He made the heavens his throne and the earth his footstool (Isaiah 66:1), he reigns in heaven above yet he rules in the affairs of men.
One point of emphasis in today’s study is that even though God reigns and their is no limit to the expansion of his kingdom, yet he will not force his reign over any person, any people and any nation. No wonder, Joshua told the elders of Israel in Joshua 24:15, saying “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua spoke only about his household but left the elders of Israel to decide whom they would permit to reign in their homes and land, whether the Almighty God or the devil.
Jesus also affirmed it that his Lordship over any man or in the world of men is largely a function of human decision. In John 12:32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me“. Jesus is giving a condition that If, men will lift (enthrone, serve, worship, adore) him (Jesus) up from the earth, he will draw all men unto himself. Beloved, this is not to mean that God does not have power to enthrone himself by force in the world of men, if you must know, the scripture says the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell there in (Psalm 24:1), he the omnipotent (all powerful God), omniscience (all knowing God) and omnipresence(he is everywhere), also he made all things by himself (John 1:3), so God can do and undo but he gives men the will power to decide who rules in their lives and in their world at the moment.
Beloved, as I round off for now, there are benefits if God reigns in any life and in any nation. So choose ye this day who reigns in your life, God or….?. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, come and reign in my life, in my home and in my world in Jesus Name.
