Topic: HOPE FOR THE NATION.
Text: Psalms 124:1-8
1: If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2: If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6: Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7: Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8: Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
A Nation is defined as a politically organized body of people under a single government. This is special write up for Nigeria as the nation decides tomorrow. The country has been through a lot after Independence, but God has always seen her through.
Nigeria has survived many wicked rulers, political crisis, ethnic crisis, commual clashes, civil war, terrorism, a lot has befallen the nation, they all came and pass, the nation remains to the glory of God.
Let bring to your knowledge that God has great delight in this nation, and I can boldly tell you that as Nigerians go to polls from tomorrow, heaven is working out something in the interest of the nation. God has invested so much in Nigeria than for him to let it seize form existence.
There are righteous people in this country and that gives me assurance that he will not let it tear apart. Genesis 18:32 confirms this; And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. There are more than 1,000 righteous people in Nigeria, so God will not allow Nigeria to be destroyed, rather the nation’s destroyers will be destroyed.
The Lord spoke to me specifically about Nigeria, here is what is he said, ‘ just wait, watch and see what I will do ‘. God is set to do something in this nation, it might not be sudden maybe gradual.
Everyone should do his or her best, do what you can for the nation, vote in the interest of the nation not in the interest of your party or tribe. Let’s not give up praying for the nation. If you’re not a Nigerian, you can help intercede for the nation. God bless you.
