Topic: THE GATES OF HELL…. Part 2
Text: Matthew 16:18
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
In part one of this topic, we discussed that hell primarily stands for darkness and so the gates of hell are gates of darkness. Today we want to consider some other contents of hell and they are unending weeping, unending cries, sorrows and hopeless.
Unending weeping and cries mean complete hopelessness, that is total absence of joy. On earth, of course there are times when a man weeps or cry but soon the weeping and crying is replaced with times of joy just as Psalms 30:5 says weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. However, In hell their is no end to weeping and crying and so no hope of joy at all just as it was clear to the rich man in hell according to Luke 16: 24-26 “24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”
So Jesus is saying according to our scriptural text above that the gates of hell, the contents of hell (weeping, crying, sorrows and hopelessness) will not prevail against you. I decree that hell will not be let loosed upon your life in Jesus Name.
Beloved, as the word of God declared, its important to declare same into your life in prayer, that as the temple of the living God, the gates of hell, the weeping, the crying, the sorrows and the hopelessness state of hell will not prevail against you and your’s in Jesus Name. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, the gates of hell shall not prevail in my life in Jesus Name.
