Topic: KEEPING YOUR DOORS OPEN…part 3.
Text : Revelation 3:8
8: I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Our passage is a clear message to the Philadelphia church, and at the same time a message to everyone who is a member of the body of Christ. I made some points in part 2, I want to make some points here as the Holy Spirit leads me.
The first point here is the reason Jesus is opening door? ‘…for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, hast not denied my name ‘. It is important you know that heaven only recognize those who keep the word of God. Many people cry to God, through prayer and fasting, some do long days of fasting, of course, there is nothing bad about that, I do also, but you see, all that will amount to waste of time and energy if you cannot keep God’s word.
If there is anything God cannot part with is the integrity of his word, it is the fulfilment of his words that brings him glory, that is an invaluable asset to him, he jokes not with his words, and anyone who will receive the best from him must give all diligence to obey his word.
The only set of people God brings honour upon their lives are those who keep his word , how do I know? Leviticus 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them. 9: For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
Note the word RESPECT it connotes HONOUR, many people we call Honourables are not before God, and if God says you’re not honourable, you can be sure there is trouble. Heaven only honour the words of those who honour God’s word. Your long hours of prayer will make no sense to heaven if you don’t honour, obey, keep God’s word.
Many people want God to hear them, but they don’t want to hear him let alone obey his voice. Do you know some people are bored of reading the word of God; bible Christian articles like PREVAILING VOICE DAILY? All they want is a pastor or prophet that will pray for them to get a miracle. Can I shock you? If God is giving you a miracle it is meant to bring you into the obedience of his words.
Another point I want to make here is this: ‘… I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it…THE DOOR that cannot be shut, everyone who obeys him comes under this covering, no closing of doors already opened, his prosperity can’t be once upon a time. Not that he use to do well, but now things have gone bad, no set back for those who keep his word, there might be challenges, but they are bound to overcome. No better yesterday for those who keep his word. I hear someone said, ‘ come and hear my story ‘, the fact is that your story is not the word of God.
Everyone who keeps his word has his or her door of prosperity open continually, they prevail over the challenges that come their ways. I am talking from experience, I have been through things, I have found God true to his words, I have found the devil too small to stop me as long as I live within the confine of his words. PRAYER.
* As we wait upon the Lord today, ask for grace to live within the confine of his words.
* Ask God to keep your door of prosperity open perpetually.
