PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th January
Topic: RAISED TO BLESS …part 3
Text: Mark 10:17-22

17: And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
19: Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20: And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21: Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22: And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

I trust God to help me deliver this message as I feel it in my spirit-man. I have read this passage several times, in fact, I have  known this passage for over 20 years now, but my spirit-man is lighten this morning to discover the mystery therein.
The rich man in our passage was a believer, he did know the commandments and observed them all, but he felt a vacuum in his life, he wasn’t feeling the joy of a believer, something within keeps telling him he is missing something important. He sounded like he wasn’t sure of making heaven though he observed all the commandments.
He has been serving God from his youth, and so heaven released blessing on him expecting him to be a blessing to others, rather he thought all his riches were meant for his consumption, he didn’t know he was just a medium God chose to reach the poor. Look verse 22 in Amplified version: At that saying the man’s countenance fell and was gloomy, and he went away grieved and sorrowing, for he was holding great possessions.
Please note this ‘ HE WAS HOLDING GREAT POSSESSIONS ‘, heaven expects him to release those possessions to those in needs, but rather he was holding them to himself, and so his spirit-man was not feeling the joy of a believer as a prove that he wasn’t meeting up to the expectations of heaven over his life.
Like many people today this rich man was acquiring this property and that property, making this investment and that investment and God was prospering him just for him to be a blessing, but he lacked understanding of his purpose of wealth.
Look at verse 21 And Jesus, looking upon him, loved him, and He said to him, You lack one thing; go and sell all you have and give [the money] to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven… Amplified. Please note this also ‘ Jesus …loved him ‘, the only thing that is missing in the life of this rich man is ability to share what he had with the poor, and that is driving him to hell, how do I know? Look at verse 23: And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Jesus’s statement doesn’t mean it is bad to be rich, but rather means the inability of rich men to understand that they are just mediums God has chosen to reach the poor will make it difficult for them to enter the kingdom of God.
Everyone is rich in something, it doesn’t have to be money, you are expected to share with others not keep it to yourself. God has chosen you as a medium to reach others, so that talent, gifting, knowledge, qualification, wealth, connection, information is meant to help others. You’re gifted, blessed to be a blessing to others. God bless you.
PRAYER.
