Topic: BLESSEDNESS OF A HOME..part 4
Text : 2 Samuel 6:10-12

10: So David would not remove the ark of the Lord unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
11: And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household.
12: And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

Nothing just happened dear reader, there is always a pre-action before an action. Some families can’t explain why they have some kind of odd experiences, some failure, some untimely death, some strange illness, some poverty. This study is aimed at removing any kind of odd experience around your family.
I have taught from the scriptures how to bring God’s blessings upon your home, detailed teaching of the word of God will always extinct darkness, ignorance kills more than the devil. Let me shed more light on this subject.
The character in our passage wouldn’t have been known, he would have died a nobody, no reference would have been made to him, in fact, the man who brought the ark of God into his house didn’t actually like him, one can say he wanted him to die, permit me to quickly prove this; 1 Samuel 5:10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And as [it] came, the people of Ekron cried out, They have brought the ark of the God of Israel to us to slay us and our people!. Amplified. In 2 Samuel 6:6,7 Uzzah died because he touched the ark, now David commanded that that same ark should be taken to Obededom’s house, most probably because he wanted him to die.
My focus here is not the intention of David, but the fact that Obededom’s household was blessed. Obededom must have been terrified when the ark of God arrived his house, his sleep must have gone off from him even in the night, he must have lost his appetite, I could perceive his wife shivering. Obededom’s neighbors must have been preparing to take the corpses of his entire family out in less than 24 hours.
I see Obededom praying to God saying, God have mercy on my house, don’t let us die. I could see God saying, relax, no evil will befall you, rather you will be blessed abundantly, just keep sin away from your house, instruct your wife and children to follow suit, everyone should be holy, and you will get blessings instead of death sentence.
That ark of God did represent God’s presence in old testament, in our days, anyone who can bring God’s presence upon his or her home will certainly be inviting blessings for that family. Retaining God’s presence in your home is synonymous to open a window of heaven upon your home for blessings. Don’t let me rush this, I will expatiate in part 5.
Everyone who will act like Obededom, living in holiness and instructing his family members to follow suit, will always attract God’s blessings. God bless you.
