PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
5th January
Topic: BLESSEDNESS OF A HOME…part 2
Text: Numbers 25:10-13.

10: And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11: Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
12: Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
13: And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

In part 1 of this teaching, I laid foundation by giving a number of criteria needed to bring blessings upon your home. In this part let’s learn from a character in the bible, his name is Phinehas, the son of Eleazer, the son of Aaron the priest. His zeal for the Lord brought him and his descendants a covenant of peace.
This guy had passion to please God, he was zealous for the Lord, he couldn’t stand anything that will get God angry. The things that break God’s heart did break his heart, the things that moved God moved him. He saw things the way God sees them.
What I am sharing here is deep, I trust God to give you understanding. Let me just major on the way God sees things. Can I shook you? If you do not see things in the perspective of God, you will commit sin most times unknowingly.
Let me give you examples you can relate with; how do you see a liar? How do you feel when your children tell lies? When the Bible says, ‘ all liars shall have their parts in lake that burneth with fire and brimstone Revelation 21:8. How convenient to do you find it to tell lies? What about anger? You get angry even when there is no need for it.
You see beloved, one good weapon in the hand of the devil is inability of believers to recognize sin as sin. Oh! how do you interpret the statement ‘ God is merciful ‘? Most times as opportunity to commit sin. You’re obviously not like Phinehas, who couldn’t stand the atmosphere of sin because of his zeal for the Lord. He had a heart to please the Lord, he wouldn’t wait for anyone to encourage him to serve the Lord, his passion for God was second to none. Do you know what? You can’t out give God, God always give much more back to anyone who gives to him.
And now what will God give Phinehas for his zeal, of course, an amazing reward called A COVENANT OF PEACE with him and his descendants. I guess you don’t know what this means; it means nothing will be able to trouble Phinehas and his descendants for ever, now imagine someone trying to fight Phinehas or any of his descendants, the person will be fighting God. This is all because of his zeal for God. I just want to ask you here; How much do you reference God? How far can you go for him? Because Phinehas could go any length for God, so God could go far to his generation yet unborn.
Your children and family will partake of the blessings of your loyalty to God. Be wise. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Increase my love, passion and zeal for you Lord.
