Topic: DON’T DENY HIM
Text: Revelation 4:11 KJV
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
God made man in his own image after his likeness Gen 1:26. Now one thing that no man jokes with, something that everyman labours for, I mean one thing that everyman cannot do without for a long time is food. Man feeds to keep himself alive, to give him strength and energy to work, and to refresh himself.
So, if man made in God’s image must feed, then it means God also must have something He cannot do without, something He feeds on and He can’t do without for a long time. Searching through the scriptures, that one thing important to God is Praise. So, praise is to God as food is to man, in heaven the twenty-four elders, the four beast, the angels and the host of heaven praise Him constantly without a break (Rev 4:8-10, Isaiah 6:2-4). On earth God created man to praise (2 Peter 2:9), not only man, but also all other creatures e.g the trees, the birds e.t.c (Rev 4:11).
The heavenly creatures don’t deny God praises, the earthly creatures also give God their best but man has always been found wanting in his call to praise God, men has taken the praises of God as insignificant, as something that is not important.
Beloved, every act of ingratitude to God, every act of failure to praise God is an act of denying God his favourite. If your praises to God weren’t important, why would Jesus say God will raise stones to praise Him (Luke 19:40). Today is the last Sunday of this year, don’t deny God of worship, ensure you go to his house, and offer unto him your quality praise, its your reason for living. God bless you.
