PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th December
Topic: LOVE AND LIFE
Text: John 3:16KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Today is celebrated all over the world as
Christmas day, its commonly a time where people merry, jubilate, eat, drink and even go partying. More often in the world today, Christmas is being celebrated out of context, with excesses and without understanding.
From our scriptural text above, we want to draw out two things about this season:
* LOVE: Christmas is all about the love of God extended to men. For God so loved the world that he gave... So without God’s love, there is no Christmas. God showed his love to us while we were sinners in that Christ died for us, his love gave us hope, redeemed us and translated us from slavery to sonship and from darkness to light. This is my submission, if you are celebrating christmas as a redeemed of the Lord, celebrate in thanksgiving to God for his love that brought you salvation and also celebrate by extendinv God’s love to those who have not received it.
* LIFE: …that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish but have everlasting life. Christmas is about your life, its about your soul. God cared so much about your life, and sent Jesus to come and save you from sin, bring you out of darkness into his marvellous light. So if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, this in an opportunity for you, celebrate this season by embracing the love of God through Jesus. No one celebrates a prisoner, no prisoner calls people for celebration while in prison, what am driving at is that celebrating this season in sin, without salvation is like a prisoner celebrating while in prison, rather celebrate Christmas because you are free from sin, celebrate because God loves you, celebrate because you are not a prisoner to the devil. Gid bless you
PRAYER:
* Thank God for his love and commit your life unto his hands even at this season.
