Prevailing Voice Daily 16th December

PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
16th December
Topic: WORD SERIES …part 9.
Text : Psalms 138:2.

2: I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!. Amplified.

You must have heard someone quoted this bible passage or you quote it. I got inspiration about this verse, it will lift your spirit just get along with me.
The Psalmist worshipped God for his truth and faithfulness to his word, for keeping his promises. He went further to say that God has exalted his name and his word above all else, this means that His word and his name are above any name or anybody’s word. Now look at this: if his word and his name are above all, which of the two is higher. The Psalmist went further to say, ‘ you have magnified your word above your name.
It is like the Psalmist was making comparison here, but if you ask me, my answer will be: no, he was only speaking by the Holy Spirit. But what exactly does this mean? Why does he have to say that? See beloved, this is deep, but I trust God to give you understanding as I share.
Let me talk about HIS NAME first. Look at this Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. This is powerful a scripture. So, God’s name is excellent in all the Earth. See another one here: Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. His name is a strong tower. Read Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. That is his name.
But he exalts his word above his name; why? Before you can use his name, you must obey his word. Obedience to his word, releases the power in his name. There is power in his name, but it works for only those who obey his word.
Let’s go a little further? Look at this: John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. His word must work in your life before you can enjoy the power in his name, the power is not released to everyone, but only to those who will bow at his word.
If his word has not changed you, when you mention his name it will change nothing, and it does not mean that his name is not powerful, but he power is not released unto you.
Now your response to his word will determine if the power in his name will be released unto you. So, your response to his word is the determinant here, not the number of times you call his name. When you bow at his word always, every thing will bow to you as you mention his name. God bless you.
PRAYER
* Help me Lord to always obey your word.
